Hey all, I blogged today over at The Aphrodisia Authors, but I could do with some inspirational help for my blog on Monday at The Spiced Tea Party. As you can see from my Aphro blog post, I'm in desperate need for a topic!

Anyone have any suggestions?

Some news

The booksigning went well on Wednesday: had a nice assortment of friends, writing friends and neighbors show up. Plus one complete stranger, although I don't think we were strangers by the end of it. Had a really neat conversation with him.

Got an email from the editor today saying that SHOW ME has been sold as a foreign edition to Spain! Yippee!!

I am still deciding whether or not to go to RT, on the off-chance that ONE MORE TIME wins its category. Somebody decide for me, please...

The booksigning last night was great!

The book signing last night at Mysterious Galaxy was very cool. And in "competition" with two mystery authors and a fantasy writer -- I managed to sell all but two of ONE MORE TIME. They even had my backlist under a different name -- which had I known, I would've said something about it to that mailing list, but oh well. I hand-sold a few of those as well.

I signed all the left overs and when I got to the LS books, I forgot to change the signature for a couple of them, so there are now two books at Mysterious Galaxy that have both my "signatures" on them! Worth a fortune one of these days, I'm sure.

It's funny that I outed myself, after I'd given Patrick a hard time about outing me to one of the other authors. *grin*

So if you know who I was in a previous writing life, you might want to drop by Mysterious Galaxy and see if you can nab on of those. One of each title now has two different signatures on them. I'm sure the staff will happily out me again to make the sale!

Plus, it's their book mitzvah this year and portions of their signing author's sales go to various charities, I assigned mine to Becky's House -- but that probably closed last night at the end of the signing, so go along to one of the many other signings they have this weekend and through to the end of the year and buy a signing author's book!

Eeee! Guess you're all coming to my booksigning!

Hey, just checked my ONE MORE TIME Amazon.com page and squealed to find that Harriet Klausner's review is up! And that's not all.

There's only one copy left! One! Amazon must've made it available since the last time I checked, which was on the weekend, I think.

So, I guess if you want a copy, you'll just have to come to my booksigning at Mysterious Galaxy next week.

Harriet Klausner gave ONE MORE TIME five stars and summed it up:

"This torrid time travel romantic fantasy stars two wonderful lead characters, a horde of profligate aristocrats (she'd make a fortune selling her toys to this crowd), and a Greek god seeking passion. The story line is fast-paced even during the heat of passion and yet filled with twists. Loaded with heat, ONE MORE TIME is an erotic tale with plenty of heat. "

She means sex-toys there, by the way.

Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Spotted in bookstores!

Hey, I went into my local bookstore on Saturday and found ONE MORE TIME on the shelves! So they're out even earlier than usual!

My in-laws were with us when I went to investigate. My sister-in-law pulled it out and looked at the hunky man cover and said, "I thought you wrote under your own name?" So um, she is somehow three books behind in my writing career. Hmm.

The brother-in-law goes: "Hey! They put your hubby on the cover!" which will join the collection of other in-laws comments like: "So he helps you with his research, eh?" *wink wink nudge nudge*

Of course I ignored him. (My husband puffed up his chest. *sigh*)

My nephew who is certainly not old enough to read my books made gagging noises. We were, after all, in the romance section. And we were here to pick up a book for him, so why were standing around here?

It's a darn good thing I like my in-laws! :) Anyway, I don't think the online bookstores have released ONE MORE TIME yet, but you can certainly check out your local bookstore and see!

Well, given that my book is coming out next month, I thought it might be a good idea if I, you know, actually talk about it.

It’s called ONE MORE TIME, and is out under Kensington’s Aphrodisia line. I was so thrilled when I got the word that I made RT’s Top Pick list! (Romantic Times Bookclub Magazine). Here’s part of the review:

“This scorching roller-coaster of a read is an erotic page-turner. It has romance, intrigue, licentious nobility, a Greek god come to life and an unexpected ending. Feisty Abby and sensual Myles are the perfect couple to surmount the obstacles in their way. This may have been the first book I've read by Hart, but it certainly won't be the last!”
4.5 stars, Bella March, Romantic Times Bookclub Magazine

Yup, a Greek god come to life. It’s quite possibly no secret that I fell for the Greek god, even if he isn’t exactly the good guy. But well, he has his reasons.

What might be a secret is that there’s more paranormal to this book than the heroine’s trip back in time. For some reason, I didn’t want to “spoil” the Greek god’s appearance, but hey, I’m pretty sure that’s him on the cover. (Hard to tell, I don’t think either the hero or the Greek god would bother with a towel.)

Here’s what the back cover blurb says:

“Travel back to a world where lords and ladies ruled the ton by day and wild, wanton abandon ruled them at night...

Abby Deane has no problems piloting a small plane to her new job -- until she lands and realizes she has traveled back in time to Regency England. She's fascinated by everything around her, especially the seductive Myles Hardy. If she can't get back to her own time, she might as well enjoy the potent sensuality simmering beneath that rock hard body...

Myles Hardy can't take his eyes off the mysterious and alluring woman who's suddenly appeared in front of him. Miss Abby Deane talks of the future, but it is pleasuring her here and now that most intrigues him. And her bag of sensual delights holds the key to revealing her most secret desires and forbidden fantasies...”

Greek god? What Greek god? But there’s even more paranormal stuff going on than just that. But I’m not going to spoiler that either. You’ll have to read it.

Oh and guess who makes a return? The Wintertons from SHOW ME. It occurs after the events in that book, so I’m not going to tell you how things are going there -- you’ll just have to read for yourself!

In other news, I’m doing a “blog tour”, so please come and visit these blogs and say hi (and ask questions and maybe win a prize) on the following days:

November 19th - My usual spot on The Aphrodisia Authors blog (http://theaphrodisiaauthors.blogspot.com)
November 19th - My usual spot on The Spiced Tea Party (http://thespicedteaparty.blogspot.com)

What is not usual is that they’re on the same day!

November 27 & 29 - History Hoydens (http://historyhoydens.blogspot.com/)

November 30th - Me, blogging everywhere: Livejournal (http://celiamayhart.livejournal.com), Bebo (http://www.bebo.com/celiamayhart) , Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/celiamayhart)

December 2nd: Risky Regencies (http://riskyregencies.blogspot.com/)

December 3rd: Jaunty Quills (http://www.jauntyquills.com/)

December 5th: Romance Vagabonds (http://www.romancevagabonds.com/)

December 10th: Romantic Inks (http://romanticinks.com/blog/)

And I’m doing a booksigning. Just one -- so this’ll be your only chance to get a signed copy of ONE MORE TIME, unless you’re planning to attend RWA National in San Francisco next year and come along to the literacy signing.

Friday, December 7, 2007 7:00 PM
Mysterious Galaxy Books
7051 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.
Suite #302
San Diego, CA 92111

I’ll be signing with three other authors, Theresa Schwegel (mystery), Jeanne Stein (vampire mystery) and J.V. Jones (fantasy). It should be a really cool mix! A little of something for everyone!

That’s it for now! (Phew!)

Celia

i've been pretty quiet of late....

There hasn't been a lot of news to report and part of me knows that I need to start gearing up for the release of ONE MORE TIME in December -- and I have been sending promo materials out and about, organized a booksigning, a blog tour, but I also need to get a contest under way. Hmm, maybe I can do that on Monday.

Anyway -- I have made commitments to blog on various group blogs to which I have posted in the last couple of days.

At the Aphrodisia Authors blog, I witter on a bit about the glamor of the writer's life and ask a question of the readers: if there was a plot twist that deepens the previously publicised paranormal aspect of a book, would you want to know ahead of time what it was, or would you rather be surprised?

Readers must be on my mind, because earlier in the week I reviewed a sartirical cartoon of the Reading Public in the early nineteenth century on the Spiced Tea Party blog

So that's what I've been up to of late...
